Buy my recommendations, or through my Amazon store. Where are those corporate sponsors? Or throw donations at me. I need money to purchase a dive light.
If you need my help to submit your CVs, donate to the blog, and I’ll review your CV to see if it is worthy of my (and my associates’) expectations. If you can’t figure out how to donate, no need to ask.
This week, it looks like you (the advertisers) are recycling last weeks adverts. Since it’s a holiday today (Monday), I guess you are justified

Support your local bookshop! Bookalicious at The Summit Subang is a good choice. I think they focus on trilogies, quadrilogies, and other ologies. Tell them I sent you, and enjoy the look of perplexity on their faces. Those of you who have dropped my name, thanks!

Didn’t they find oil onshore Kelantan a while back? Was it hushed up?
Ah, now I know where the Asam Paya field is.
Dateline 2013-01-19:
Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) has made an onshore oil and gas discovery in Sarawak, the first after 24 years, after Asam Paya Field in 1989, also in Sarawak.
About 349 metres of net hydrocarbon thickness was found in the Adong Kecil West-1 well after Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd and its joint-venture partner, JX Nippon Oil & Gas Exploration (Onshore Sarawak) Ltd, drilled the well in Block SK333, which is located about 20km northeast of Miri.

Cool, there might be an opertions room in NOEX’s offices in Miri. And on oil pad in the middle of the Miri Fan.
Dateline 2010-06-10, taken from Bernama:
Japanese oil and gas company, Nippon Oil Exploration (Malaysia) Ltd, will carry out a seismic study within Miri starting this September as part of its onshore oil and gas exploration of Block SK333 in the city here.
The study, which would employ the vibroseis seismic survey technology, the latest in onshore exploration, is expected to be completed in three months, said Nippon Oil’s Managing Director, Hideki Kitagawa on Thursday.
Speaking at an awareness session on the project here, he said the new technology would be used in Malaysia for the first time.
He said the survey follows the awarding of a contract by Petronas to Nippon Oil in 2007 to carry out works on Block SK333, which is about 3,800 kilometres square in size.
About 97 per cent of the total acreage had been surveyed and mostly located in the rural part of the Miri Division near Marudi district.

First off, if you need my help to submit your CVs, donate to the blog, and I’ll review your CV to see if it is worthy of my (and my associates’) expectations. If you can’t figure out how to donate, you are definitely Cylon fodder.
- Synergy is looking for lead safety engineers, safety specialists, junior and lead process engineers and technical writers. We’re on an expansion drive, people! Visit the Synergy website for contact details. For leads, you need 5 years plus experience in the oil & gas industry. For safety specialist applicants, you need to be well versed in HAZOP, HAZID, QRA, FERA and Formal Safety Assessment. Ah, heck. If you have more than 5 years experience in O&G, apply. If you have less than 5, send a donation to the offshore account, and still get abuse. For juniors, go pick up a copy of Cambridge’s ChemEng syallabus, and go study like the Tripods (all of them) are tomorrow.
- Subsea 7 is looking for a Business Development Manager (SEA). View the job desciption here, and apply online.

Please apply here or here or snail mail to: Shapadu Energy and Engineering Sdn Bhd, Wisma Berkat, Lot 10, Jalan Pelabur 23/1 Section 23, 40000 Shah Alam, Selangor DE.
- Nippon Oil Exploration (Malaysia) Ltd (NOEX) asks, “Do you want to be part of a sustainable energy initiative for the future?” If so, there is a position for a Senoir Drilling Engineer. Snail mail to Human Resource Section NIPPON OIL EXPLORATION (MALAYSIA) LTD, Lot 1168, 3rd Floor, Wisma Interhill, Miri Waterfront Commercial Centre, 98000 Miri, Sarawak, Malaysia before 12th April, 2010.
As you can probably tell, I was on leave last week. Food was catered for at Ayu Mayang Resort, Redang, Terengganu. How was the weather out there? Put it this way, no swimming was allowed, no boats could beach outside the big ferry jetty, and people were surfing outside the resort. Yes, it was kinda rough, people, though I still managed to get 2 dives in, bordering on suicidal.

My eating recommendation for the week will be Restoran Tong Juan Seafood. For those who have ever worked in the O&G industry on the East Coast of Malaysia would have gone there sometime, usual after thinking ‘Where is there to eat around here?’ Of course, you would also have visited Hai Peng as well

Sigh, since I have moved with Synergy out of KL, will you patronise Chee Meng in my memory? Or invite me to meetings around Bukit Bintang at lunchtime? Is he doing packet specials?
Maybe I should change loyalty to Pakeeza, which is a bit closer to the office.
