I’ve been busy, how have you been?
- First off, Synergy is looking for lead safety engineers, safety specialists, junior and lead process engineers and technical writers. We’re on an expansion drive, people! Visit the Synergy website for contact details. For leads, you need 5 years plus experience. Ah, heck. If you have more than 5 years experience in O&G, apply. If you have less than 5, send a donation to the offshore account, and still get abuse. For juniors, go pick up a copy of Cambridge’s ChemEng syallabus, and go study like the Tripods (all of them) are tomorrow.
- Jobs available are avaiable in Qatar Petroleum for Snr Petroleum Engineer, Snr Completion Eng, Snr Inspection Eng, Snr Corrosion Eng. Apply here.
- Subsea 7 has an office here now. They are looking for a snr proposals eng (Sing, KL), proposals eng (KL). Too bad they aren’t looking for engineering degree holders for these positions.

There were no newspapers published (or at least none distributed) last Saturday. Off the top of my head, the current jobs available are:
- Rumour has it that Petrofac is looking for a Project Manager to handle insanely large amounts of money. Jabba should apply.

For safety specialist applicants, you need to be well versed in HAZOP, HAZID, QRA, FERA and Formal Safety Assessment. Ah, heck. If you have more than 5 years experience in O&G, apply. For juniors, go pick up a copy of Cambridge’s ChemEng syallabus, and go study like the Tripods (all of them) are tomorrow.

- My sources: Hess is looking for Senior Mechanical Engineers. Bribe me, and I’ll deign to look at your CVs. Put me in another tax bracket, and I may forward your CVs on.

I really can’t recommend any food places this week. I’m in Miri, and nothing local catches my attention. For those knowing me, it would mean the places I’ve eaten till now must really be blah. C’mon people, send me your contact details and take me (and my family) out for dinner!

Is it me, or was there no recruitment section in The Star? There’s nothing on the ebrowse site. Anyone get a hardcopy of the paper? If so, can you mail it to me 🙂 I ‘ll cover the domestic mailing costs. Or steal it from the batch of returned papers outside your local 7-11.

This week’s food recommendation is Aero Caterering Sdn Bhd based in MAS Complex A SAAS Airport (Subang International Airport for us old timers). They supplied the food for my MRSM Muar ’84 batch reunion dinner on Saturday night. I don’t think they have a food outlet, but try them out for some Minang food.

Proserv Offshore’s business is focussed on four main areas of expertise: Decommissioning Contractors & Engineers, Abandonment Services, Subsea & Marine Technology, High & Ultra High Pressure Pump services (I guess these aren’t the guys who supply Proserve sampling systems). Looks like this company is coming in on the crest of a boom. They’re looking for a project engineer & operation / project manager. Apply here.
