Saturday Star 2014-11-15 – Job Opportunities

November 17, 2014

Buy my recommendations, or through my Amazon store. Or get the Young Turks series (all 4 books). Where are those corporate sponsors? Or throw donations at me. I want to go for umrah.

  • I’m lining up jobs for next quarter, for IGL Services. Whisper to (better yet, carpe jugulum) your boss, and send work my way.
  • Hess is advertising for a mess of positions, most for the North Malay Basin. They are looking for a Senior Project Engineer, Senior Facilities Engineer, and other positions without the word ‘Engineer’ in them. Visit here for more info.
  • Nothing interesting this week, though I hear that Technip is still looking for project managers, senior project engineers, project engineers for Libra FPSO Project & Rapid. > 5 years experience. Send CVs to me, and a donation, and I’ll forward it on. Or save yourself some money, and send it to Technip directly.

Support your local bookshop!  Bookalicious at The Summit Subang is a good choice. I think they focus on trilogies, quadrilogies, and other ologies. Tell them I sent you, and enjoy the look of perplexity on their faces. Those of you who have dropped my name, thanks!

Food choice of the week? How if you visit Vietnam, how about visiting and updating GoHalalVietnam! for your food needs. For your other needs, talk to your local tour guide/ concierge / man on the street.

How about some references to improve your health? I’ve been on this plan for about 12 weeks. Muscles have moved from buttery to rubbery.

Firm expands drilling operations in Sabah

November 17, 2014

Dateline 2014-08-27, Borneo Post:

Talisman Malaysia Limited is in the process of further developing its Kinabalu platform with plans to start the construction of a wellhead to link with the existing platform by next year.

“This is so that we can drill further production wells to maintain our production from the Kinabalu field,” said its acting country manager, Duncan Smart.

On the oil and gas company’s progress, Smart disclosed that its drilling rig left the Kinabalu platform beginning of August, having completed a drilling programme there.

“We drilled six new wells and are extremely pleased with the results because our production from the platform has increased by three times.

“So we are now producing at around 16 to 17 thousand barrels of oil per day, a progress we consider to be very successful,” said Smart, when met at the company’s Hari Raya Aidilfitri open house here yesterday.

Will Malaysia Emerge as the New Qatar of LNG?

November 16, 2014

Dateline 2014-08-26, The Marine Executive:

Wood Mackenzie asserts that by 2020, Malaysia has the potential to be the largest supplier of flexible LNG to the global market, larger even than Qatar. The supply capacity of Malaysia’s Petronas is growing through new capacity additions in eastern Malaysia as well as Canada, offtake agreements with other suppliers and projects such as GLNG in Australia. Its supply potential could grow by over 55 percent, from 27 million tons per annum (mmtpa) in 2013 to 42 mmtpa in 2022. Some of this new capacity is committed to buyers, but some is not. In addition, some of its existing commitments to buyers will expire over the next 10 years.
