  • Carigali Hess (you know, Cakerawala) is looking for an advisor, HSE. If they get more visits from the Kelantanese administration by boat, the advisor is going to have to be a harbourmaster as well. Anyhow, send email here if you want to apply.

Saturday Star 2009-01-24 – Job Opportunities

Another week, another scan of the Saturday Star newspaper. Here’s a list of job ads in the paper:

  • Synergy Oil and Gas Engineering is recruiting fresh chemical engineering graduates, or those with around 1 year experience. CVs may be sent to enquiry@synergykl.com.my. It’s also looking for admin execs who can run the invoicing / payroll / accounting as well as be office managers. Come visit us at W-07-01, Subang Square Business Park, Jalan 15/4G, Subang.
  • SGS is looking for a Sampling / PVT engineer, flow assurance engineer (hey, I’m breaking into that market!) and new chem engineers. Bhd, Unit 10-1, 10th Floor, Bangunan Malaysian Re, No. 17, Lorong Dungun, Damansara Heigths, 50490 KL. Most people confuse SGS with Shell Global Solutions. Not me, I go the other way round. I’ve met SGS before under the guise of their meter certification program. As for being a PVT engineer, my sources tell me that if you have to characterise a hydrocarbon, be prepared to spend a week+ matching the compositional breakdown with the PVT data.
  • Petrofac is looking for a deputy production manager. Sounds like an EMEPMI facilities engineer to me, though I hope the pay is better. Another week, another scan of the Saturday Star newspaper. Here’s an incomplete list of job ads in the paper:

  • ExxonMobil are looking for Service Station Dealers. You have to write in directly to the Retail Area Manager (Dealership Application), Level 13, ME.
  • Esso Malaysia Berhad is looking for people for the Port Dickson Refinery (I did my summer internship at the Shell refinery next door).
  • Shell Global Solutions (SGS to friends) is looking for people, about a pages’ worth.
  • Global Process Systems (GPS) is looking for engineers, final location unknown. email and web prescence available.
  • Oval Engineering is looking for a senior sales engineer / sales and apps engineer.
  • Hmm, new one. Petro Rabigh is looking for people. Looking at the website, it is owned by Saudi Aramco.
  • Optimal is looking for a reliability engineer, HSE delivery specialist, and planner. email and web prescence available. A lot of people moved to Optimal when it first started up, though I think the renumeration package isn’t as good nowadays.
  • Asian GEOS is looking for engineers. email available. A few of my ex-colleagues moved to Orogenics, of which Asian GEOS is a member.
  • Chiyoda is looking for people.
