Sabah govt urged to conclude PL9SB deal by year-end

September 10, 2017

Dateline 2017-08-08, FMT:

Sabah DAP has urged the state government to acquire the “promised” 10% stake in Petronas LNG 9 Sdn Bhd (PL9SB) by the end of the year, saying “three years have been wasted with nothing achieved” on the delayed deal.

Sabah DAP secretary Chan Foong Hin said M3nergy, which was acquired by Sabah Development Bank Group Berhad, had changed its name to Sabah International Petroleum Sdn Bhd (SIP), which would be used as the vehicle to acquire the 10% share in PL9SB.

“SIP has not been generating any dividend for the state government as it is under a consolidating process now,” Chan told FMT in response to Chief Minister Musa Aman’s written answer to his question at the state legislative assembly sitting here today.

Lundin sells Malaysian infrastructure

March 17, 2016

M3nergy must be happy. FPSO operation team probably isn’t.

Dateline 2016-01-22, UPI:

Swedish energy company Lundin Petroleum said it was taking in cash after shedding infrastructure in Malaysia it said is not part of its core business strategy.

Lundin said it agreed to sell offshore floating production and storage vessel Bertram to M3Energy Investment Ltd., a state-controlled energy company in Malaysia, for $265 million.

“Owning infrastructure assets is not part of Lundin Petroleum’s core strategy and this transaction will allow us to redeploy this capital into other areas of our business to fund our value driven growth,” President and CEO Alex Schneiter said in a statement.

Sabah oil doesn’t need another ‘broker’

June 22, 2014

And we see M3Nergy is in the news

Dateline 2014-05-02, Free Malaysia Today:

In the 1980’s the Sabah Energy Corporation (SEC) was established to develop oil and gas projects in Labuan.  Asian Supply Base Sdn Bhd is one of its subsidiaries.

The SEC’s responsibility was to develop the integrated Sabah Gas Utilisation Project in Labuan whereby excess gases piped in from offshore fields are used to make hot briquette iron and methanol.

Excess heat was used for power generation.

But SEC sold off  the integrated gas projects. SEC is now responsible for providing gas for industrial use in the Kota Kinabalu Industrial Precinct (KKIP) but this however is limited to only 2 million cubic feet of gas sales daily.

In the 1990s the Sabah Government established Petrosab, a subsidiary of Innoprise, the business arm of Yayasan Sabah.

Bids invited for Angsi CEOR prize

May 6, 2012

Hey, wasn’t this bidded out last year? I’ve seen the ideas for it. Don’t own a vessel, though.

Dateline 2012-04-20:

Malaysia’s Petronas Carigali has started a pre-qualification exercise for a multi-year contract on a vessel-based chemical enhanced oil recovery (CEOR) project at the producing Angsi oil and gas complex off Peninsular Malaysia.

An invitation was issued to vessel operators, which are expected to take the lead in pulling together bid packages for the supply of a floating CEOR unit.

Petronas’ floating production division, MISC, and Malaysian duo Bumi Armada and M3nergy are among those invited to respond to the pre-qualification call.

No food recommendations this week. I was in Brunei last week, and came to the conclusion that the buka puasa buffet is not well practiced in Kuala Belait. Can’t beat the price, though. Around B$9/pax was the most expensive one I found.

Higher Acceptances Received For M3nergy Takeover Offer

June 26, 2010

I’ll just pull out what I think are the pertinent paragraphs from this Bernama article, dateline 2010-06-19:

Adamus Avenue Sdn Bhd (AASB), which launched a conditional takeover of M3nergy Bhd, offering RM1.85 per share, has received over 71 per cent acceptances for the voting shares of the oil and gas services provider, as of June 19.

Companies controlled by major shareholder, Tunku Datuk Yaacob bin Tunku Tan Sri Abdullah, who owns 71.14 per cent of M3nergy, have confirmed acceptance of the conditional offer.

Meanwhile, it was reported that AASB is a private company owned by Datuk Shahrazi Sha’ari, who is the current Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of M3nergy.

Can you say, management buyout? We look forward to the new owner sending all their specialist process work to us.

OGA – Some Photos

June 16, 2009

Since there was a big sign saying no photos outside the hall, I couldn’t take sweeping panoramic shots. On the other hand, I did manage to take photos with some local celebrities.
