IPC takes outright ownership of Bertam offshore Malaysia

International Petroleum Corp. (IPC) has assumed full control of the Bertam field offshore Peninsular Malaysia.

Last month the company acquired Petronas’ 25% participating interest at no cost, although IPC has agreed to take on associated future well decommissioning obligations.


IPC updates infill well campaign offshore Malaysia

International Petroleum Corp. has issued a progress report on the current third phase of infill drilling on the Bertam field offshore Peninsular Malaysia, which started in June.

So far two infill landing pilots have been completed with results in the A-15 area above expectations, but worse than anticipated in the A-14 area.

International Petroleum Corporation (IPC) (TSX, Nasdaq Stockholm: IPCO) is pleased to announce that it has commenced drilling of the first well in a planned multi-well drilling program on Block PM307, located offshore Peninsular Malaysia. IPC is the operator of Block PM307 and holds a 75% working interest, with Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd holding the remaining 25% working interest.

The PM307 drilling program is planned to consist of two infill landing pilot wells in the southeastern and northeastern areas of the Bertam field, followed by the Keruing exploration well and three Bertam field infill wells. The first pilot well will test the upside potential in the northeastern A15 area, which could lead to an additional infill well being added to the 2019 program in the success case.

International Petroleum Corporation (IPC) (TSX, Nasdaq Stockholm: IPCO) is pleased to announce that it has commenced drilling of the first well in a planned multi-well drilling program on Block PM307, located offshore Peninsular Malaysia. IPC is the operator of Block PM307 and holds a 75% working interest, with Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd holding the remaining 25% working interest.

The PM307 drilling program is planned to consist of two infill landing pilot wells in the southeastern and northeastern areas of the Bertam field, followed by the Keruing exploration well and three Bertam field infill wells. The first pilot well will test the upside potential in the northeastern A15 area, which could lead to an additional infill well being added to the 2019 program in the success case. The second pilot well will target the southeastern A14 area with the aim to confirm commercial quantities of hydrocarbons and to act as a landing pilot to de-risk development drilling. The Keruing exploration well will target a prospect in the I-35 reservoir, approximately 600 metres shallower than the Bertam field.


IPC outlines offshore Malaysia drilling goals

 IPC Petroleum Corp. continues to assess new infill drilling opportunities at the Bertam field offshore Peninsular Malaysia, the company said in a results statement.

This follows positive results from previous infill drilling programs and continued good reservoir performance.

In addition, the company is looking to drill an exploration well on the Keruing prospect in late 2018, subject to regulatory approval and rig contracting.

 


Bertam FPSO carries Malaysian flag

International Petroleum Corporation has announced that the Bertam FPSO is now registered as a Malaysian flagged vessel under the applicable Malaysian marine regulations.

The Bertam FPSO is required to be Malaysian flagged in order to offload oil production from the Bertam field in Malaysian waters. As previously announced in December 2017, IPC had received an extension for the provisional registration of the Bertam FPSO in Malaysia until March 2018.  Following the submission of an application to the relevant Malaysian authorities, the Bertam FPSO has now received registration as a Malaysian flagged vessel under the applicable Malaysian marine regulations.

IPC, through its wholly-owned subsidiary IPC Malaysia BV, is the operator of the Bertam field with a 75 percent working interest. Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd holds the remaining 25 percent.


Lundin produces first oil from offshore Malaysia

Swedish energy company Lundin Petroleum declared victory Tuesday after announcing its first volumes of oil produced from a field off the coast of Malaysia.

Lundin announced its Malaysian subsidiary started commercial production from the Bertam field using four pre-drilled development wells. Peak production of 15,000 barrels of oil per day is expected by late 2015.

“Bertam is our first development project in Malaysia and as such we are very pleased to have achieved first oil safely, on schedule and within budget,” Lundin President and Chief Executive Officer Ashley Heppenstall said in a statement.


Bertam project enters construction phase offshore Malaysia

 Lundin Petroleum says its Bertam oil field development offshore Peninsular Malaysia is on schedule for start-up in spring 2015.

The field, in the PM307 block, will be developed using a 20 slot wellhead platform alongside the spread-moored IkdamFPSO.

Development drilling will start this summer. Lundin plans 13 horizontal wells and one deviated well completed with electrical submersible pumps.

TH Heavy Engineering is building the platform at its yard in Pulau Indah, close to Kuala Lumpur. The jacket is expected to be installed offshore this summer, followed by the topside during 4Q.


TTHE Bags Deal to Build Wellhead Platform for Bertam Oil Field in PM307

TH Heavy Engineering Berhad (THHE), an offshore oil and gas facilities fabricator, reported that its wholly owned subsidiary, THHE Fabricators Sdn. Bhd. (TFSB) has received a Letter of Award from Lundin Petroleum’s unit Lundin Malaysia B.V. (Lundin) Nov. 4 to fabricate a wellhead platform for the PM307 Bertam field development project off Pahang, Malaysia.

Under the contract, TFSB will fabricate the wellhead platform for the Bertam project, which is located about 108 miles (175 kilometers) off the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia. The wellhead platform is scheduled for completion in about 12 months.


PETRONAS Carigali discovers more oil reserves in Bertam, says PM

 Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak today announced that PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd and Lundin Oil have jointly discovered additional oil reserves, under a production-sharing contract (PSC), at Block PM 307 of the Bertam oilfield.

He said the oil field, located 160 kilometres offshore Peninsula Malaysia, is opposite the state of Pahang at the depth of 76 metres.

PM 307 PSC is operated by Lundin Malaysia which holds a 75 per cent interest and Petronas holds the remaining equity.
