Reuters: Malaysia Probing Aker Solutions over Petronas Dealings

December 20, 2020

Hahaha, it’s about ownership of company, with respect to getting a PETRONAS license. What, MACC finally figured out the paperwork trail? How about hitting every company with a PETRONAS licence? Next, can they charge companies for providing engineering services without registering the proper licences with the Board of Engineers?

Dateline 2020-12-02, Offshore Engineer:

Malaysia’s anti-graft agency is investigating Norway’s largest oil services provider Aker Solutions on suspicions of making false statements in its dealings with state-owned energy firm Petronas, three sources familiar with the probe said.

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is looking into allegations that Aker Solutions made false representations regarding the ownership of one of its Malaysian units in order to win licenses from Petronas, a source with the agency and two other people told Reuters.

Hibiscus Wraps Infill Drilling Campaign Offshore Malaysia

November 26, 2020

Dateline 2020-11-02, Offshore Engineering:

Malaysia’s Hibiscus Petroleum completed the St Joseph minor sands infill and major sands redevelopment infill drilling campaign in its North Sabah PSC, Malaysia.

The offshore drilling campaign involved the drilling and completion of four infill oil producers on the St Joseph Jacket-F (“SJJT-F”) platform.

Through the infill drilling development campaign, Hibiscus says it has added an instantaneous incremental 2,200 barrels per day of crude oil production and added approximately 4 million stock tank barrels of incremental life of field gross reserves.

Sabah’s oil and gas dealt a severe blow by Shell

November 12, 2020

IGL is ready to step into the void, using the concept community owned entities (COE) to bring wealth to the local landscape. I would have called it community owned commercial kickstarters, but the acronym would have been hilaaaariuos.

Dateline 2020-10-23, The Malaysian Insight:

SHELL’S announcement on October 15 that the Plaza Shell Office at Kota Kinabalu will be closed with a relocation of all Sabah staff to the new Miri headquarters in 2021 was received with unceremonious silence.

The Kota Kinabalu office was set up in November 2015 with promises of Shell’s significant presence, strategic partnership and offer of measurable progress for the Sabah state. This change of commitments, a sad truth on change of events, draws much reservation, suspicion and unveils unprecedented break of promises from Shell to Sabah, its people and communities.

The well-set and progressive 200 Shell staff occupying four floors of the 14-storey Plaza Shell, a distinguished landmark in Kota Kinabalu being strategically located in the city’s business district may see the last of its pivotal presence very soon. Their lives, sadly, may never be the same again.
