Saturday Star 2012-04-07 – Job Opportunities

Support me by purchasing my recommendations, or buying through my Amazon store. I need the money to pay for running this site. Corporate level sponsors are encouraged.

If you need my help to submit your CVs, donate to the blog, and I’ll review your CV to see if it is worthy of my (and my associates’) expectations. If you can’t figure out how to donate, no need to ask.

  • I’m looking for a senior process engineer, 7+ years experience. Send your cv here . Also looking for process safety persons, lead piping designer, lead instrument engineer, and other seniors you think will catch my eye.
  • PETRONAS has a one page ad. Send your cv here. State your applied discipline as subject/title of your application.

May I suggest that readers install the Waze app on their phones? And use it as much as possible? It says its a “a social mobile application providing free turn-by-turn navigation based on the live conditions of the road. 100% powered by users, the more you drive, the better it gets. Join the community of drivers in your area today!” It’s definitely getting better for the Klang Valley area, though we need more users from East Malaysia.

Support your local bookshop! Visit Bookalicious at The Summit Subang, good selection of imported books. I think they focus on trilogies, quadrilogies, and otherologies. Tell them I sent you, and enjoy the look of perplexity on their faces. Maybe I should say that next time I visit them. Those of you who have dropped my name, thanks!

BTW, did I tell you that I am the Secretary of MOGEC?

For those of you who have a healthy skepticism to my industry, these books are for you:

Why We Hate the Oil Companies: Straight Talk from an Energy InsiderThe Party’s Over: Oil, War and the Fate of Industrial SocietiesBarbarians of Oil: How the World’s Oil Addiction Threatens Global Prosperity and Four Investments to Protect Your Wealth (Agora Series)

This week’s food promotion is … masak asam pedas. If you find nice places around PJ, let me know. I’ve tried the one across from the PJ State Police Station, and the shop next to Dewan MPSJ in PJ State.

    any job for diploma?

  2. jabbathehutt says:

what diploma you have? Diploma makan tahi?

If you have that, you got the same qualification as the fish in my aquarium. I need those black things eating shit.

Stupid boy, you have to tell people what diploma you have, how many years experience, etc…. not “any job for diploma”.

You are officially tagged as an “IDIOT” by jabba.

  3. pandejo says:

diploma in chemical engineering jobs?..just looking for any oppurtunities..currently i`m in production department

  4. zack says:

wow jabba…appreciate if u could be nicer. i bet u wouldn’t wanna be treated that way too =)

  5. it'sjustme says:

Hahaha… This blog and most of all the posts ARE entertaining! And to Jabba, yeah… You just couldn’t be nicer could you? So cynical and aaa… I don’t knw. 🙂 But yes, I saw where all those coming from. That boy with the diploma-God-knows-what-diploma-he-had, should have been more specific! Silly!

Anyhow, to Wata (or whtever ur name is), I would ♥ to donate but the thing is, I’m jobless at the moment. 🙂 but hey, keep up posting nice entries, I’ll come bck for more giggles, definitely! Xxx

    • Wata says:

it’sjustme: what do you mean ‘whtever ur name is’?

      • Itsjustme says:

The post is entertaining and the blog itself is informative. Don’t mind the rest, it’s just me talk nonsense! 🙂

      • Itsjustme says:

Oh, and that ‘whatever your name is’ because I’m not sure if that’s your name. But I’ve stumbled across your article in IEM journal 2005 on the main cover article – an overview on oil & gas industry in Malaysia, so I know that is your name. Apologies. Good article, though. Give me better understanding of the industry, for someone who’s completely illiterate in that area. So, thank you.

      • Wata says:

Itsjustme: Y’know, people say they stumble upon my blog, in the same tone they use in the sentence ‘I stumbled upon a tombstone…’ C’mon, stay awhile and contribute some words. Where are all the ladies, as the song goes.

  6. itsjustme says:

Hey, my ‘stumble upon your blog & your article’ is nothing close to the term ‘stumbled upon a tombstone’, definitely! And I was genuinely glad that i have stumbled upon those two – the blog & the article! 😀 See that word up there, I AM GLAD!

Don’t worry, I will be staying for a while. 🙂 As I am enjoying reading and understanding the industry. 😀

Have a great day, people!! 😀 xx

    • Wata says:

itsjustme: Actually, the remark wasn’t directed at you. I’ve had people say, I was looking for something and then, laa, jumpa blog kau. Wish I had 10 sen for everyone who said that, then I would have … 30 sen.

  7. Itsjustme says:

So, there’s like what, three people altogether who said such or behave such? Oh. Then let them be. 🙂

Oh, btw… Just a random of my think-out-loud; it is just so annoying when you have tried so hard to put your feet in the oil and gas industry, but since you have not possess some experience in that area, well, practically… You’re out of the league! Just like that. How mean is that? *wonder*

Macamana nak maju if this prolongs? Aishhhhh! 😮 xxx

    • jabbathehutt says:

ok, Jabba is going to share this with you.

I have 80% of staff which I hire as graduate, i.e. first job from university. I have 150 staff in the office. I have nothing against hiring graduates, and I train many of them myself.

I have no problem with giving people a break, but I cannot stand stupidity.

      • itsjustme says:

Hi Jabba. 🙂 Well, I am honored that you decided to share a thought.

Well, yes. I understood if the situation is referring to a fresh graduate seeking ways into the industry, however, what I was referring to, is someone who has working for sometimes but without, say engineering background. I have few friends who is already in the industry, but what I am trying to say is that, it’s hard to get in. That’s all.

And hey, I am with you 100% on giving people a break and the fact that you hire graduates, is great! Oh, and on the statement of, ‘can’t stand stupidity’, I really hope it’s not meant for me because I am just giving my two cents here. I’m just saying! 😉 Well, have a good weekend, all! xxx

      • jabbathehutt says:

naw, stupidity means people that post a comment like

“yo wata, any job for a prime minister of malaysia?”

  8. Itsjustme says:

Well, that’s a relief. 😉 yes, so we are on the same page then. 🙂 glad that you clarified! Thanks a lot! Xxx
