THE road ahead for Dialog Group Bhd seems clearer now that it has attained approvals from the Department of Environment for the detailed environmental impact assessment (EIA) for its RM5bil independent deepwater terminal project in Pengerang, Johor.
The company told Bursa Malaysia this week that it had obtained the approval in April and analysts expect the tender for the earthworks reclamation to be completed in June.
Dialog signed a memorandum of understanding in 2009 with Dutch-based Royal Vopak and Johor State Secretary Incorporated to own and operate a deepwater petroleum terminal with harbour port, jetty and other marine facilities with water depth up to 26 meters.
The depth of the water allows for ultra large crude carriers, very large crude carriers and other vessels to access the port, and also for tankage facilities for the handling, storage, processing and distribution of crude oil, petroleum, petrochemicals and chemical products in Tanjung Ayam and Tanjung Kapal, Pengerang.
