Saturday Star 2009-11-07 – Job Opportunities

First off, if you need my help to submit your CVs, donate to the blog, and I’ll review your CV to see if it is worthy of my (and my associates’) expectations. If you can’t figure out how to donate, you are definitely Cylon fodder.

  • Optimal (tagline Optimise your Career Potential) is looking for a Reliability Engineer. Hmmm, do you Kertehians want to apply? Visit their website, or apply here.
  • Our favourite Saudi recruiter, SABIC, is at it again, looking for Project Managers and Senior Project Engineers. You can apply via email here.

No makan-makan comments this week, I’m afraid. Cheap and cheerful, Subang Square Business Center place are (channeling Yoda this week).

    salam mr wata

currently i’m a project engineer at a medical gas company. I’m a graduate in chemical engineering. i have no experience in oil and gas but i have worked 9 years in medical gas industry..with my qualification and experiences, is there any opportunity for me to join oil&gas as i have huge interest in joining this industry.. your opinion/advise is highly appreciated…thank you..

    • Wata says:

wan: Wa’alaikum salam. I don’t know your experiences. Your best bet is to look at the various job descriptions here on in today’s (Sat) paper, and honestly ask yourself “can I be hired as an experienced chemical engineer?” Maybe you can try downstream operations, LNG, refridgeration process, and such. Or scrub your last 9 years or experience, and start fresh.

    • JabbatheHutt says:

      No, no way.

Project engineer – people playing with schedule, deliverables and contract. that is bullshit at its best.

    Hi Mr Wata,
Salam and have a good day,

I’am fresh graduate in bachelor degree of science technology management. I really wish to start my career with Oil&Gas company. Is there any chance for me to join this part of industry? I can accept any positions if available even as a clerk. Really need your help Mr Wata, i have been unemployed for three months ago without doing anything, already apply others company but still pending..

    • Wata says:

Nadia: Salam. your degree does not conform to any O&G expectations, so why are you surprised that no one will hire you? I suggest you go look at the careers that got you interested in science tech management, and apply to companies that provide those jobs. Or convert your degree to an engineering one via an MEng, and try applying after you finish

    • mervin chan says:

Gee, Nadia, you’re hell bent on O&G ain’t you? You are willing to work as a clerk for that matter?

    • kerang says:

Nadia…open ur mind & try to explore the possibilities. me either graduate in computer science.
      now im a Mechanical Engineer…

      • Jabbathehutt says:

i remember one computer science graduate that became a director of a safety consultancy.

he used to shout when his computer hangs….. i guess they forgot to teach him how to reboot the PC.

by the way, it was the boss (RA) from Trident……

anyway, if you got safety work, come to synergy.

  3. JabbatheHutt says:

Jabba should require a secretary of sorts…..

  4. JabbatheHutt says:

As a matter of fact, yes, i do need a secretary.

but then again, we need it at Jakarta, not Kuala Lumpur…..

    can’t help you there.
