IEM Shout Out – Course on Design Considerations in Static Equipment Application


This is a shout out for the IEM. My Tech Division (sorry, one of my tech divisions) is hosting a course on the above topic. It’s at ILSAS, on the 27-28 July, 2009.

The course can be broken down into 2 parts:

Weld symbols, brittle fracture, fatigue and ductile fracture.

  • Basic understanding of welding symbols according to AWS, BSEN, behavior of welded structure in service, factors affecting brittle, fatigue and ductile, features of fracture

Design consideration for static, pressure vessel and aluminium structure.

  • Basic understanding of design principles, properties of aluminum

The above will be presented by Mr. Ian Partridge, Principal Project Leader, Equipment Risk Consulting, Structural Integrity Technology Group
