This presentation will provide a quick introduction into the engineering of oil production. It will start with an introduction to important oil properties to consider when producing an oilfield, and how this data is used. It then moves to a generic offshore production facility, pointing out the salient points, design considerations and major equipment used in oil production. It closes out with a quick look at downstream facilities.

It is an interesting fact that Bro Wata is always a humble person. Even though we should address him ‘Ir Wata’, but he is an open minded person. Bro Wata, I read in the IEM website and do some ‘cold-calling’ (s) to the IEM about the road to become a Registered Engineer. At the moment, I am a member of BEM. I managed to get a list of IEM (Mentors), and only a few of the names involve in the Oil and Gas business. The prominent names are Prof Ir Wan from UiTM and Ir Ahmad Sidek from Technip (both of them are busy people). And I also found your name Ir Wata (not a real name) and one guy from DNV. From my tele-conversation with IEM, basically to join IEM we need a sponsor.
