Refresher – Hydraulics


Here’s a photo I took. Questions are:

  1. Is the mains on the left or right of the photo?
  2. What principle determines the rate of water exiting the nozzles?
  3. How would you change the system to ensure the same flowrate exists each nozzle.
  4. What is the name of the actor playing Starbuck in Battlestar Galactica?

    3. Hmm… can’t control pressure. Change the height of exit (higher on mains side) or vary the pipe/exit size (bigger on farther side).
    4. Battlestar who?
