  3. JabbatheHutt says:

    1. Nagoya Food court (the ones with a huge fiberglass shark)

    2. Nagoya hills shopping complex

    Jabba,

When i was working in a yard in Batam, they tapau-ed some nasi goreng with a piece of fried chicken for us during lunch hour. It was quite nice overall but the fried chicken was rather small…an american who sat beside me pop-ed up the question:

“Are you sure this is chicken? Looks like a bird to me…”

  8. JabbatheHutt says:

I know, its a malnourished bird. Same can be said about the girls (small or XS).

Jabba can’t even find a decent T Shirt to fit in Indonesia. Their XXXL can’t even fit if I use it as a bra.

Anyway, Poorpipeliner, yard feed you badly. cut cost.

  9. PoorPipeliner says:

    Jabba,

Everything seems to be malnourished there huh..i guess they just shoot a random bird and cooked it for us..

Hopefully, they don’t serve insects in our nasi goreng in the future 🙂

    Hi Wata,
I’m a petroleum engineering grad looking for a job in oil and gas industry. I’m more interested with offshore works like drilling, completion or perhaps offshore operations like survey or field engineer. If there is a chance for me to fit in at any company you know. Please let me know. Thanks. BTW, your website is a portal of jobs.super cool. i can put it as better than jobstreet. cheers.

Why graduates nowadays like to give hints to employers that they are more interested to do this and that?

If i’m the employer, my first impression would be: “You want us to hire you”
“You want us to put you in these specific challenging roles”
“You don’t want to sit in the office”

As Jabba & Wata stress all the time, it’s an employer’s market now.

“Take it or leave it(for the rest)”

      • berg says:

@Poorpipeliner Seriously, i dont understand what do you want to point out in your second paragraph. Please rephrase dude.

But from what i can understand, you, as the experience worker is annoyed with all new graduate like me to say what i’m interested in.

Maybe something like “I am willing to do anything as long as you employ me, sir” would make you happy to hire me.

Anyway, whats wrong with saying out what i love to do to someone who want to hire me. for me, people do excel when they do what they really want.

lastly, do you not love your pipeline job?

    • JabbatheHutt says:

I want to say is there is not enough info in that short paragraph for anyone to even contact you.

At least say, my cv is at this link xxxxxxxx.

I won’t hire anyone that doesn’t give me any info apart from that. I think there’s 1500 ppl that fit exactly your description. nuff said

  11. PiperAlpha says:

    Hi Mr. Wata,

I’m a process engineer in an oleochemical company with 2+ years of experience, graduated in chem eng. I’m thinking to jump into oil & gas field, to seek more challenge, career development plus better payment.

Please do advice me on where/which position should I start the career. Thanks!

    • Wata says:

PiperAlpha:you can start either as a process engineer or operational support. As it’s an employers’ market, you’ll be starting at the bottom, as a graduate engineer, unless you shine during the interview and show that you are management material, which means you still start from the bottom of the heap, but might get onto that fabled fast track ladder.
