PTTEP partners with PCSB and PSEP in Block SK325, offshore Malaysia

PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP) joins PETRONAS Carigali Sdn. Bhd. (PCSB) and Petroleum Sarawak Exploration & Production Sdn. Bhd. (PSEP) as a partner in offshore exploration Block SK325. The investment further expands PTTEP’s growth opportunity in Malaysia while strengthening relationship with business partners.

PTTEP Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Montri Rawanchaikul, revealed that PTTEP Sarawak Oil Limited (PTTEP SKO), a subsidiary of PTTEP, along with PCSB and PSEP have signed a Production Sharing Contract (PSC) with Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS) for the offshore exploration Block SK325 which was offered under the Malaysia Bid Round (MBR) 2022. MBR is an annual licensing round organized by Malaysia Petroleum Management (MPM), PETRONAS as the custodian of petroleum resources in Malaysia


Malaysia: PETRONAS signs new Discovered Resource Opportunities PSCs

PETRONAS has signed Production Sharing Contracts (PSCs) for three clusters of Discovered Resource Opportunities (DRO) marketed under the Malaysia Bid Round (MBR) 2022.

The A Cluster was awarded to Ping Petroleum and Petroleum Sarawak Exploration & Production (PSEP), while Dialog Resources and PSEP won the bid for the Baram Junior Cluster. Both clusters are located off the coast of Sarawak.

PETRONAS has signed a Production Sharing Contract (PSC) with SK earthon Co., Ltd. (SK earthon) and Petroleum Sarawak Exploration & Production Sdn. Bhd. (PSEP) for Block SK427 off the coast of Sarawak.

SK earthon, a wholly owned subsidiary of South Korea’s SK Innovation Co., Ltd is the operator of Block SK427 with 85 percent participating interest while PSEP, the Sarawak-owned oil and gas company, holds the remaining 15 percent.

Signing on behalf of PETRONAS was Senior Vice President of Malaysia Petroleum Management (MPM) Mohamed Firouz Asnan, while SK earthon was represented by its Director and Head of Exploration & New Venture Office, Suntaek Bang, and PSEP by its Director and Chief Operating Officer, Dr James Foo.


PETRONAS Carigali, Shell and PETROS EP awarded exploration acreage offshore Malaysia

PETRONAS has awarded Block SK437 offshore Sarawak, Malaysia to PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd (PCSB), Sarawak Shell Berhad (SSB), and Petroleum Sarawak Exploration and Production Sdn Bhd (PSEP), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Petroleum Sarawak Berhad (PETROS).

Block SK437 is located to the southwest of the prolific Central Luconia province, measuring 2015 km2 in size and in water depths of up to 50 m.

SSB is the operator for Block SK437 PSC, with a 85% participating interest, while PCSB and PSEP hold 7.5% each. Both PCSB’s and PSEP’s interests are carried during the exploration phase. SK437 is a new addition to Shell’s existing interests in 15 production sharing contracts in Malaysia, of which eight are located off the coast of Sarawak, whilst the remaining seven are located off the coast of Sabah.
