Anyone have USD3M they would loan to me riba-free?
Dateline 2014-11-03, The Malaysian Reserve:
Crude oil prices have fallen by about 25% since mid-June to a four-year low. Brent crude futures, which is the leading global price benchmark for oil, dropped below $86 per barrel whereas US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) futures dropped as low as $79.44, the lowest since June 2012.
The negative spillover implications of a sustained period of lower oil prices are detrimental to the whole industry, and could lead to lower corporate earnings, reduced production and loss of jobs.
With oil prices hitting multi-year lows, the oil and gas sector seems to be looking bleaker by the day.
In Malaysia, national oil company Petroliam Nasional Bhd (PETRONAS) is the sole rights owner of all oil revenues.
If Petronas reduces production, it will affect supporting industries such as services provider Sapura Kencana Petroleum Bhd and marine engineering firms like Coastal Contracts Bhd.
Analysts have started to factor in the lower oil prices and have cut earnings forecasts for Malaysian oil and gas related companies.

Definitely link bait. Please bite. Greater Singapore, indeed.
Dateline 2014-050-26, The Establishment Post:
Pengerang used to be a fishing village famous for its succulent lobsters. Each weekend a good number of Singaporeans would take a two-hour drive to get to the southernmost tip of Johor on the east to savour Pengerang’s lobsters and other sea delights fresh from the Johor Straits. It had at least eight seafood restaurants, way too many for a tiny township.
Two years ago, reclamation work started in the coastal area of Pengerang and there were no more fishermen and neither was there any more coast for fishing. This was the start of a massive RM170 billion (US$53 billion) project called the Pengerang Integrated Petroleum Complex (PIPC).
This is said to be the biggest project ever by Malaysia in terms of scale and size. Lawmakers and corporate leaders claim that this project Pengerang in will turn Malaysia into a mega petrochemical. But what about the Greater Singapore plan?

Hah, and I always said we could have a bottled water vendor in the O&G space.
Dateline 2014-05-05, Seatrade Global:
A Sarawak-government linked group is believed to be looking at injecting MYR200m ($61.5m) in oil and gas (O&G) fabrication assets into a reverse takeover of loss-making bottled water company BIO Osmo to transform it into an O&G company, local reports said.
The speculation has also been prompted by recent changes in its shareholding, including the emergence of Tanjung Offshore managing director Harzani Azmi as a substantial shareholder in January.
Tanjung is looking for a core business after selling its offshore supply vessel business to Ekuiti Nasional for MYR220m in July 2012.The group has been on the look-out for a shell company for some time and Bio Osmo, which is debt free after having undergone a recent restructuring exercise, fits the bill.
