Dateline 2015-04-13, Sputnik International:
Russia is ready to enter a bid for construction of the first nuclear power plant in Malaysia, if it is announced, Russia’s nuclear corporation Rosatom Deputy Director Kirill Komarov said Monday.
Komarov said that Russia is ready to participate in the tender despite the fact that Moscow and Kuala Lumpur do not yet have a nuclear energy agreement.
Moscow can offer cooperation in building nuclear reactors to countries which have plans of nuclear energy development, such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam, Komarov said. Russian reactors meet all recent upgraded nuclear safety requirements introduced following the 2011 catastrophe at the Fukushima nuclear power plant in Japan.

PT Synergy Engineering Bags FEED Contract for East Java’s Lengo Gas Field
May 22, 2015Hah, first time I see PT Synergy in the public press. Congratulations, Pak Arif and Pak Wong. Yes, nothing to do with Malaysia, overtly.
Dateline 2015-04-13, Rigzone:
Singapore-listed KrisEnergy Ltd. (KrisEnergy or the Company), an independent upstream oil and gas company, announced Monday it has awarded the front-end engineering and design (FEED) contract for the Lengo gas development offshore East Java in Indonesia, and has commenced geophysical and geotechnical surveys at the platform site as well as along the proposed platform-to-shore pipeline route and onshore receiving terminal location.
The Lengo gas accumulation is located in the Bulu production sharing contract (PSC), which covers 269 square miles (697 square kilometers) over the East Java Basin in water depths of 164 to 197 feet (50 to 60 meters). The development plan was approved by the Indonesian authorities in late 2014 and comprises four development wells, an unmanned wellhead platform and a 20-inch, 40-mile (65-kilometer) export pipeline to transport the gas to shore. The Company is in negotiations over gas sales and production is expected to begin approximately 24 months after the joint-venture partners declare final investment decision. The field will produce 70 million cubic feet per day at plateau.
Indonesian-based survey contractor, Java Offshore, has commenced the geophysical and geotechnical surveys and PT. Synergy Engineering was awarded the engineering services contract for the Lengo FEED.

Dateline 2015-04-13, Malay Mail:
Sabah actively negotiates with state oil firm Petronas to maximise petroleum income beyond just oil royalty payment, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman told the state assembly today,
Musa said that the state also benefited from active participation in the industry and other equities it holds in Petronas, including a new unexplored oil field off the east coast of Sabah.
“Sabah is in constant discussion with Petronas on how to get more, not only from its oil royalty but also in exploring other forms of profit, including the taking over of a marginal oil field in Sandakan, which has been approved in principle (by Petronas),” he said.

World Bank urges Indonesia and Malaysia to slash fossil fuel subsidies
May 19, 2015The WB thinks we still have fossil fuel subsidies. Wait, do we? Fishing vessel diesel, maybe. What else?
Dateline 2015-04-13, World Green:
Emerging and developing economies in East Asia should use the drop in oil prices to curb fossil fuel subsidies as part of a programme that would help reduce national debts and tackle climate change, the World Bank has said.
In a new report on the region today, The World Bank warned fuel prices in Indonesia and Malaysia remain abnormally low, despite some recent efforts to curb fuel subsidies and increase taxes.
The International Energy Agency estimates that $550bn is spent on fossil fuel subsidies a year, which lower the cost of oil, coal and gas production and are blamed for undermining investment in low carbon forms of energy generation, such as renewable energy, and more efficient vehicles. The subsidies can take the form of a price cap at the pump or tax breaks for domestic oil producers, with the price difference made up by national governments.
