Malakoff secures additional Mitsubishi Power turbines to boost generation capacity

KUALA LUMPUR (March 2): Malakoff Corp Bhd has signed a second reservation agreement (RA) with Mitsubishi Power Ltd for two additional sets of M701JAC gas turbines and generators, earmarked for a new 1,400MW combined-cycle power plant in Malaysia’s northern region.

This follows Malakoff’s October 2025 reservation of two similar units for its recently announced 1,400MW gas-fired plant in the south, bringing the total secured to four turbines.
