IEM Shout Out – Welding


This is a shout out for the IEM. My Technical Division will be having a course on the 8th & 9th of June, 2009.

It will be held at the Institute Latihan Sultan Ahmad Shah (ILSAS) in Bangi, as part of the ongoing collaboration between the Oil, Gas & Mining Tech Division and ILSAS.

The course sections are:

Topic 1 :

Arc welding process (MMA, TIG, MIG/MAG and FCAW)

Course content outline : –

  • Principles of operation, consumables, polarity, welding parameter,
  • advantages and disadvantages

Topic 2 :

Welding process (SAW, RSW, Oxy-Acytylene Electroslag

Course content outline : –

  • Principles of operation, consumables, polarity, welding parameter,
  • advantages and disadvantages, fuel, gases
  • Flame type etc.
